Transducer Array Enclosure
The transducer array enclosure was machined from aluminum on a 5-axis HAAS mill. This part required high precision and strict adherence to GD&T principles. This design features 100-thou walls, placing high demand on machining strategy to maintain structural integrity while minimizing wall deflection.
I developed and executed the full machining approach, including fixturing and work holding strategy to ensure part stability across complex 5-axis operations. Toolpath planning was carefully optimized to manage cutting forces against the thin-wall geometry, and consistent attention to tolerances was maintained across all critical features to meet the part's functional requirements.
The enclosure was completed and delivered to specification, successfully meeting the precision and geometric requirements of the transducer array assembly.
